At age 5, I was diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. While unable to understand the complexity at the time, Autism has proceeded to shape many crevices of my identity. During adolescence, I suffered a string of emotional hardships as I tried to find where I belonged. This left me determined to develop a thorough understanding of what Autism means to me, so I acquired a Bachelor of Arts in psychology and a Master of Science in Autism Spectrum Disorders. I then became a behavior analyst, a specific type of therapist that often works with individuals on the spectrum. Over the past decade, I have provided behavioral therapy to a diverse array of people, striving to improve the everyday lives of those who possess unique attributes and face various challenges.
The purpose of this blog/collection is to discuss different aspects of the autism spectrum. I have lead a happy and productive life through embracing that I am a part of the spectrum, and the unique gifts that this brings to my life. I am here to relay what my personal and professional experiences with autism have taught me, to help others find fulfillment.
